Certificate of analysis

A certificate of analysis is the document a laboratory issues for one specific batch, reporting what testing found in that batch. It is batch-specific: a certificate for a different lot tells you nothing about yours, which is why every figure below names the lot it came from.

Storage

Handled as a lyophilised solid under standard laboratory practice. Copper complexes are sensitive to chelating agents and to pH, so contact with unintended buffers is avoided in laboratory work.

Description

GHK is one of the shortest peptides in commercial use: glycine, histidine and lysine — three amino acids, nothing more. The sequence occurs naturally in human plasma and in collagen. GHK-Cu is that tripeptide holding a single copper(II) ion in a one-to-one complex. The copper is not an additive; the peptide's known chemistry is largely about its ability to bind and carry copper, which is an essential trace element several enzymes depend on.

Copper is a required cofactor for enzymes involved in building and cross-linking connective tissue — lysyl oxidase, which cross-links collagen, is the standard example. A small peptide that binds copper can act as a carrier, and the proposed mechanism for GHK-Cu is that it delivers copper in a form cells can take up, while the peptide itself influences the expression of genes involved in extracellular matrix turnover. Of everything in this catalogue, GHK-Cu has the most straightforward story: it is a copper carrier, and copper is genuinely needed for connective-tissue chemistry.
